La Limpia
The shamanic cleanse and healing of Ecuador
with Michael Heartsong Cutter
Modern thinking often says the spirit lives in the body, but for thousands of years Shamans of the Andes have known that the body is encapsulated by spirit, as an egg shaped energy field called the ‘light body’. Through deep observation of nature and opening their subtle vision, these shamans, known as Yachaks in their Kichwa language, discovered that trauma and stress causes a disturbance in this field. The disturbance weakens the energy field and, if left unresolved, allows negative energy to penetrate resulting in vulnerability, fear, excessive stress, energy attachments, and physical disease.
La Limpia uses elements of the Earth including green leaves, feathers, fire, sacred volcanic stones, huacas, aromatic smoke (palo santo, sage or copal), eggs, sulfur, flowers, flower essences, bells, flutes, tobacco, etc.. Each element plays a role in removing negative energy from the body, revitalizing and harmonizing the energy, creating protection and invigorating the mind, body and spirit.
La Limpia is known to dramatically impact the lives of people, releasing stuck energy allowing the 'river of light' to flow – healing issues, and igniting the passion to live their life purpose. Sessions vary to meet the needs of the client but always include a Platica, or meaningful conversation to open to the heart of the issue, diagnostic candle reading and/or hand analysis, and the healing ceremony. ‘Homework’ from the shaman helps ensure lasting changes.

Michael has been walking the path of the Yachak (traditional Kichwa healer) with Taita Itzhak Beery, Don Manuel Calazacon, Mama Maria Juana and Don Raul Yamberla – well known master Yachaks from the highlands and cloud forest of Ecuador.
Michael is deeply involved in a worldwide community dedicated to creating cross-cultural networks of support that empower indigenous communities in Ecuador while bringing their ancient wisdom into the modern world.
With the blessings of his teachers, he offers the powerful La Limpia to help guide and support people through challenges and live their life purpose.
An experienced guide and drum maker, Michael has brought the transformative medicine of the drum into the lives of over 500 people around the world.
