La Limpia (Spanish meaning 'the cleanse') is the traditional shamanic healing method throughout Mexico and South America, but not all limpia's are the same. Often la limpia is a simple process of burning sage, blowing trago (sugarcane rum) or flower water over the person or shaking plant leaves over the body to cleanse, rejuvenate and invigorate. The shamans believe that we experience issues when there is weakness in the spiritual "luminous field' (aura) that allows stress and negative energies to penetrate onto the skin and eventually work its way deeper into the tissues and organs resulting in disease. This style of la Limpia from the Otavalo region of Ecuador is more complex to not only cleanse but harmonize and heal deeper issues, create vitality and resilience and ignite the passion for life. The sessions are meant to adapt to what you need and may include the use of plant leaves, eggs, smoke, stones, sulfur, and fire to deeply cleanse. Aqua de florida (flower water) and sound are used to bring harmony. Volcanic stones and tobacco smoke seal and protect. Candle divination and hand reading reveal the deeper issues, life purpose and lessons. Limpia uses plants, feathers, eggs, smoke, stones, sulfur, fire, flower water, sound, flowers, volcanic stones and tobacco to cleanse, harmonize, protect and ignite the passion for life.  Sessions may include soul mending, soul retrieval, takuma needling or other processes as needed. la Limpia sessions are in-person only
