About the event
For this FULL MOON Journey Into Sound, the theme will be INNER LIGHT.
Step out of the noise of everyday life and into an immersive landscape of sound.
Journey Into Sound weaves live music and sound with practices inspired by shamanic healing traditions to create a space for deep relaxation, inner listening, and connection.
Michael and Joy create an intuitive sonic landscape using handpan, didgeridoo, drums, rattles, Native American flute, Tibetan bowls, voice, kalimba, chakapa and other instruments and shamanic tools. Rather than following a predetermined musical structure, the experience unfolds in response to the energy of the room and the people within it.
At times gentle and spacious, at times earthy, rhythmic and evocative, the sound invites you out of the thinking mind and into a deeper experience of the body, senses and inner world.
What makes this different from a traditional sound bath is the integration of Michael’s experience in indigenous shamanism and Joy’s deeply intuitive relationship with music and stunning vocals. Sound becomes more than something to listen to—it becomes a way of entering into relationship with yourself, the natural world, and the deeper currents moving within you.
Simply lie down, close your eyes, listen with your whole body, and allow the experience to unfold.
One hour. No experience necessary.

Joy and Michael, There is something to be said for beautiful live music that flows from the heart and you guys do that with regularity in your Sound Journeys! Another rock star performance! I feel light and refreshed and will now go on an earthing walk under that luminous full moon. —William S

About Michael & Joy
Michael and Joy have worked together with healing sound for many years. In 2015 they created Journey Into Sound, which became a recurring gathering in the Denver/Boulder area. Their work together combines musical intuition, shamanic practice, improvisation and deep listening to create experiences that can be soulful, playful, earthy, ethereal and deeply restorative.
Rather than simply performing music, they listen and respond—to one another, to the group, and to what is emerging in the moment.
Joy Sylvia
Joy Sylvia is a musician, intuitive sound practitioner and women’s voice coach with an innate ability to express emotion and vibration through voice and music.
Her work moves fluidly between the playful, primordial and ethereal. She works with handpan, Tibetan bowls, Native American flute, drums, kalimba, voice and other instruments, allowing sound to arise intuitively rather than from a fixed composition.
Joy facilitates private and group sound experiences as well as women’s drumming and vocal empowerment workshops. At the heart of her work is an invitation to rediscover the voice as something natural, expressive and deeply connected to who we are.
